The Evolution of the Hong Kong Police Badges

The Hong Kong Police have had several different badges over the years, many with a similar look but distinctly different to the trained eye of a collector. We recently met with Mr. Bruno Ma who told us "I collect badges that relate to the Hong Kong Police because I like to study and research the history of the Force starting from its inception in 1844". Mr. Ma is a Hong Kong businessman and a member of the Orders and Medals Research Society. His collection of medals represent over a 100 years of the Hong Kong Police Force history - from the Plague, to the early 20th century, to the Japanese invasion to the World Wars. Two items from his collection are shown below, more will be displayed on the Police Medals page at Hong Kong Disciplined Services Collectibles in the next few weeks.
